Now in its 137th Fantastic Year!
137 years after its foundation in 1880, the Corstorphine Literary and Geographical Society (familiarly known as the Lit) is still strongly supported by the Corstorphine community, with regular turnouts of 80+ every Monday evening in St Ninian's Church from October to March to hear illustrated talks on a wide variety of subjects. Visiting speakers are routinely astonished by the large numbers attending.
The Lit’s meetings are as much a social event as anything else, enabling neighbours and friends to have a break from the “box” on dark winter Monday evenings. With a leisurely (but prompt) start at 7.45pm, everyone knows that they will be on their way home by 9pm – a feature which is particularly appreciated.
Membership is now £20 for 20 meetings or £2,50 per meeting at the door.
We look forward to seeing you at any or all of our meetings!
We are now meeting in Burn's Hall, St Ninian's Church
